Footsteps in the dark hall

Footsteps in the dark hall
A bootbeat heard by all
But mostly the faithful
Bound in chains and awaiting
Their only relief is hoping
Their only life is hoping
They hear the boots
And they know the righteousness,
The redemption is near.
Footsteps beating over a granite grey aisle
A hero born to take this walk
Salvation from through oak doors
And across the long arched hall
Black boots beat
And there are no feet at all,
It's the shoes of that man
That are stepping.
